Manila ex-mayor Alfredo Lim dies at 90

FORMER Manila mayor Alfredo Lim passed away Saturday, August 8, at the age of 90, reports said.

The death was reportedly confirmed by Lim's daughter, Cynthia, and chief-of-staff Ric de Guzman.

There is no official statement yet as to what caused Lim's death.

Lim served as secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government during the administration of former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada.

He served as Manila City's mayor from 1992 to 1998 and 2007 to 2013. In 2004, he ran for Senate and won. (SunStar Philippines)
